TCF and TEF Canada logins: reaching your candidate space and results
There is no single TEF Canada login: the two exams run on different portals. Which account is which, and how to reach your booking and your results.

The reason a “TEF Canada login” is so hard to pin down is that there is no one login, and the two exams do not even share an operator. The TCF Canada and the TEF Canada are run by different organisations, booked in different places, and the account you sign into depends on which exam you registered for and, just as often, on which test centre took your money. Treat the search term as three separate questions - which portal, whose account, and which number - and the wall comes down.
One thing to be clear about first: we prepare candidates, we do not run registration, and we have no back door into either operator’s system. So this is a map of which door is which, not an inside line. Because operators redesign their sites and centres run their own booking, confirm the exact page names against france-education-international.fr for the TCF and lefrancaisdesaffaires.fr for the TEF before you rely on any label below.
Which portal is which for the TCF versus the TEF?
The single most useful thing to know is that the two exams live in different places, so half the login confusion is people trying the wrong operator entirely.
- TCF Canada is administered by France Éducation International (FEI). Registration, though, is usually handled by the approved test centre you chose - many centres take your booking and payment on their own site or by email, so there may be no central FEI “candidate login” for you at all. Your account, in practice, is often your account with the centre.
- TEF Canada is run by the CCI Paris Île-de-France through Le français des affaires. It is more common here to encounter a candidate space tied to the operator or the centre, which is why “tef canada login” is the phrase people search far more than the TCF equivalent.
So before you hunt for a password reset, answer a prior question: did you book through a centre or through an operator page? Your booking confirmation email tells you, and it names the exact site to return to. That email is the real login clue, not a guessed URL.
How do you reach your candidate account?
Work from the confirmation outward rather than from a search engine inward. In order:
- Open the booking confirmation for the exam you actually registered for, and use the link in it. The account lives wherever you paid.
- Match the email address. Candidate spaces are keyed to the address you registered with, so a login that “does not exist” is often the wrong inbox rather than a deleted account.
- Use the password reset on that same page before creating a second account. A duplicate registration is the one self-inflicted problem that genuinely slows things down.
- If there is no online account - common for centre-run TCF bookings - your “account” is the centre’s admissions email. Contact them directly rather than expecting a portal.
If the page itself will not load or the payment step keeps failing, that is a different problem with its own fixes, and we walk through the triage in when the TEF Canada site is not working. A broken page and a forgotten account feel identical in the moment but need opposite responses.
Where do your results appear after the exam?
This is where people expect their login to do something it may not do. Results are not always posted back into the same space you booked from. Depending on the exam and centre, your attestation may arrive by email, be collected from the centre, or appear in a results area that is separate from the booking area. Do not assume the booking portal is the results portal.
Give it time, too. Marking and issuing an official attestation takes weeks, not hours, and the timeline is set by the operator rather than by how often you log in. Confirm the current results window against the official sites rather than a forum thread from two years ago, since these timings change.
Which number does the login actually need?
A candidate space and an immigration form ask for different identifiers, and mixing them up is the quiet cause of a lot of “my login is wrong” frustration. Roughly:
| What you have | What it is for |
|---|---|
| Email and password | Signing into the booking or candidate space itself |
| Candidate or registration number | Identifying you to the centre or operator |
| Attestation or result reference | Identifying the specific result document |
| A verification code or PIN | Letting IRCC confirm your scores are genuine |
That last one is the field that stops people inside their Express Entry profile, and it is not a login at all - it is a verification code printed on your attestation. If that is the number you are chasing, the detail is in the TEF Canada language test PIN rather than in any password reset.
What if you booked but cannot find any account?
Assume the account is exactly where you paid before you assume it is gone. Re-read the confirmation, search your inbox for the centre’s name and for the exam name, and check a second email address if you have one. If you registered through a centre, contact that centre; if you registered through an operator page, use its help route. Only after those should you consider that something genuinely went wrong.
And if you have not booked yet, choose the centre first and let it tell you which portal you will be using, rather than the other way round. The route from choosing a centre to holding a confirmation is laid out in the booking guide, and our centre pages are where to build the shortlist. The login you were looking for is usually waiting on the other side of a booking, not before it.
Frequently asked questions
Is there one login for both the TCF and TEF Canada?
No. The TCF Canada and TEF Canada are run by different organisations, so there is no shared account. The TCF is administered by France Éducation International and often booked through your test centre, while the TEF Canada runs through the CCI Paris Île-de-France and Le français des affaires. Confirm the exact portal on france-education-international.fr or lefrancaisdesaffaires.fr.
Where do I find my TEF Canada login?
Start from your booking confirmation email, which links to the exact page where you registered and paid. Candidate spaces are keyed to the email address you used, so a login that appears not to exist is often the wrong inbox. Use the password reset on that same page before creating a second account, since a duplicate registration causes more delay than it solves.
How do I access my TCF or TEF Canada results?
Results are not always posted back into the booking portal. Depending on the exam and centre, your attestation may arrive by email, be collected from the centre, or appear in a separate results area. Marking and issuing take weeks, not hours, so check the current results window on the official operator site rather than refreshing your account.
What is the difference between my login and my language test PIN?
Your login is an email and password for the booking or candidate space. The language test PIN, sometimes called a reference or verification number, is a code printed on your official attestation that lets IRCC confirm your scores are genuine. It is not a password and you do not set it yourself.
I booked but cannot find any online account. What now?
Many TCF Canada bookings are handled directly by the test centre, so there may be no online portal at all - your account is effectively the centre's admissions email. Re-read your confirmation, search your inbox for the centre and exam names, check any second email address, then contact the centre directly if nothing appears.
