Is CELPIP accepted for Express Entry?
Yes. CELPIP-General is one of the three English tests IRCC accepts for Express Entry, alongside IELTS General Training and PTE Core. The CELPIP-LS version is used for citizenship rather than permanent residence, so check which one your application needs.
What CELPIP score is CLB 7?
7 in all four abilities. CELPIP reports on the same 1 to 12 scale as CLB, so the numbers match and there is nothing to convert. That also means a CELPIP 6 in one ability puts your file below CLB 7 no matter how strong the other three are.
Is CELPIP easier than IELTS?
Neither is easier in the sense that matters, because both are converted to CLB before a single point is calculated. CELPIP uses Canadian accents and everyday Canadian contexts, and it is fully computer-delivered including the speaking test. Whether that suits you is the real question.
Where can I sit CELPIP?
CELPIP is run by Paragon Testing Enterprises and is concentrated in Canada, with a smaller number of centres elsewhere. If you are applying from outside Canada, check availability in your country before you commit, because IELTS has far wider coverage.
