TCF and TEF Canada

## How passer shows up in the TCF and TEF

You will say « j'ai passé le TCF » with avoir, because passer has a direct object there. Without an object it takes être: « je suis passé à la banque ». Note that passer un examen means to sit it, not to succeed.

- J'ai passé le TEF Canada au mois de mars. _I took the TEF Canada in March._
- Elle est passée chez moi hier soir. _She dropped by my place last night._
