## How répondre shows up in the TCF and TEF

Répondre takes à (répondre à une question, répondre à un courriel). Leaving out the à is a frequent mistake in the writing tasks.

-   Je réponds à votre annonce du 12 mai. _I am replying to your ad of May 12._
-   Personne n'a répondu au téléphone. _Nobody answered the phone._
