Terms of Service

Last updated 26 July 2026

You are buying preparation, not a result. We do not register you for the examination, we cannot promise a score, and we do not give immigration advice. You can have a full refund within 14 days if you have not opened the course. This page explains the rest.

1. Who you are contracting with

Français Prep is operated by KNIGHT SECURITY PTE. LTD., a company registered in Singapore. When you buy anything on this site, your contract is with that company. You can reach us at bonjour@francaisprep.com.

By buying a course or booking a lesson you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not buy.

2. What we sell

We sell preparation for the TCF Canada and TEF Canada examinations, in three forms:

  • A self-paced course, bought once, giving access to written lessons and practice material for both examinations.
  • Small-group live classes, sold as a block of weeks.
  • One-to-one tutoring, sold as a block of sessions.

Prices are shown in Canadian dollars on the pricing page and are charged once, at the point of purchase. These are not subscriptions and nothing renews automatically.

3. What we do not sell, and cannot promise

This matters more than anything else on this page, so we will be direct about it.

  • We do not register you for an examination and we do not take examination fees. You book and pay for the test with an accredited centre. Their prices, dates and rules are theirs, not ours.
  • We cannot promise you a score, an NCLC level, or an immigration outcome. Nobody honestly can. Your result depends on your French, your preparation and your performance on the day.
  • We do not give immigration advice. We describe how examination results convert to NCLC levels because it is relevant to preparation, and we work from published official tables. That is information, not advice about your file. For advice about your application, speak to a regulated immigration consultant or a lawyer.
  • We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to France Education international, CCI Paris Ile-de-France, or Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. TCF, TEF and related names are the trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe what we prepare you for.

Examination formats and conversion tables change. We check ours against official sources and correct them when they move, but before you plan around any figure, confirm it against the official page for your own examination and your own immigration route.

4. Your account

You need an account to reach anything you have bought. Keep your sign-in details to yourself.

Your access is personal. Sharing an account, or passing course material to people who have not bought it, ends the access without a refund. We would rather say that plainly now than argue about it later.

5. Refunds

You can have a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not opened the course content. Write to bonjour@francaisprep.com and we will refund to the card you paid with.

Once you have opened the lessons, the self-paced course is not refundable, because at that point you have the material. This is the same reason a bookshop will not take back a book you have read.

For the live tiers, sessions you have not yet taken can be refunded on the same basis. Sessions already delivered cannot.

If something has genuinely gone wrong, for example you were charged twice or you cannot get access to what you paid for, the rule above is not the point and we will simply fix it. Write to us.

Depending on where you live, consumer law may give you rights beyond this. Nothing here removes them.

6. Live lessons and scheduling

Live sessions are booked through the scheduling page. If you need to move a session, give us as much notice as you reasonably can and we will move it. Repeatedly missing booked sessions without notice uses up the block, because the time was held for you.

If we have to cancel a session, we reschedule it or refund it, whichever you prefer.

7. The course material belongs to us

The lessons, practice examinations, model answers and explanations on this site and in the course platform are ours. You may use them to prepare for your own examination. You may not republish them, sell them, or upload them to another platform.

Work you write and submit for marking remains yours. We read it in order to mark it, and we do not use it for anything else.

8. Availability

We aim to keep the course platform available continuously, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may take it offline for maintenance, and occasionally something will break.

If a fault means you genuinely lose meaningful access to something you have paid for, tell us and we will put it right, by restoring access, extending it, or refunding it.

9. Limits on our liability

If we are at fault, our liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us. We are not liable for indirect losses, and specifically not for the consequences of an examination result or an immigration decision, because those depend on your performance and on decisions made by bodies we have no connection to.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

10. Ending the arrangement

You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time. See the privacy policy for what happens to your data.

We may end your access if you share your account, redistribute the material, or behave abusively towards the people who teach and support you. Where the fault is not yours, we refund the unused part.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Changes are not retrospective: the terms that apply to your purchase are the ones in force on the day you bought.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and disputes go to the courts of Singapore. If the consumer law where you live gives you protections that cannot be set aside by agreement, you keep them.
